Paved in Gold
The cobblestones of Rodeo Drive. THE most expensive street in the shopping world.
Though I have never seen a celebrity there, I have seen more than a fair share of
awesome cars there.

Cheated
I had no great ambitions when I went to take this shot. But once I took a look
at it on the computer, I felt an overpowering sense of sadness. These leaves
were cheated of a spring, of a greater purpose in life, and of lost ambitions.
The shot was taken right outside out gate.

A Brick for the Buck
So you pay all that money and get a brick for it. Which people stamp on. mmm.
Well, actually, its all about the glory. I wish I had my name etched somewhere
on campus. The name would live forever. Immortality. mu-hahaha

Concrete and Leaves
In the middle of Spring, here's a nice reminder of an autumn that has come to pass.
This shot is right outside my office, and as you can see, desperate people look for
inspiration in desperate areas.

Star of Hollywood
Rash found this pattern somewhere in Hollywood. I am not too sure what it is, but
if they were trying to make something like the patterns on the Taj, it's a poor
replica. She's captured the vibrant colours rather well though.

Trigger Happy
Rash took this shot while trying to get a Church. I am still trying to figure out how...

Twins of Bunker Hill
We chased this picture for a whole afternoon. This neck of the woods is
really shady, and it's a good thing that we were there in broad daylight.
Remember the place - Bunker Hill. And the whole area (it's rather
big) was sold for $517 back in the 1880's to a local businessman.
By the way, check out the way the dials are lined up...

The Farmer's Clock
It was not well lit, so the tripod was required. Ofcourse, we didnt' take it when we left home,
and this is what we ended up with. Oh well. I am too lazy to go back there, and take the
shot again.

The Tower and the Lamp
Rash took this shot of a Santa Monica landmark. It's a rather hard angle, with
the sun so bright.

The Hunchback of Notredame
This tower looks familiar? Well, it's where the original silverscreen Quasomodo lived.
The building is the Mudd Hall of Philosophy, at USC.

Hands of Money
We've posted another picture of this building before. It's the HSBC building, and it
houses, apart from the obvious, the underground station.
I think the time on this clock is right. For a change...

PS: Rash gets credits for this shot.

The Market Pavilion
I am not proud of this picture. It's over exposed and quite unflattering. The
shot is of a stall on the promenade in Santa Monica.

The Twins
Tucked in a store on the Promenade are these two. Rash took a hurried shot
of it, lest someone stop her. It's come out rather well, and the strange
angle plays well with the theme.
Note the time differs !

Boo
Every once in a while, we come across an interesting specimen to take a picture of.
This iguana was once a pet, but it grew way too big for them, so they gave it off
to an animal shelter. He's over 5 feet long !
And yes, he smiled for the picture.

This guy had only one thing to say -
Make me look good...

Hu
This guy was the neighbour's cat. I say was coz I don't really know where he is anymore.
Maybe the neighbours moved out. Maybe he ran away, or got lost or died. We used to
meet him everyday, we we walked to the car. And this dude and I had a thing going.
We'd stare at each other and have good fun. I miss him.
Rash and I named the cat Hu-shan-hwa. Hu for short. One day, we will get a cat of our
own. That one's going to be Hu v1.1

Nice Ass
Caught this stare one day. Just look at that oogling eye. Damn dawg...
By the way, Rash suggested the title!

Love finally...
After dry humping a toy, this chap found love. A beautiful white bitch, and a match
made in heaven. Take a look at the pug on the right. He's so pissed at all this
show of public affection. Ugh gross !!!

That a bitch ?
This dog was seriously confused. And this went on for a bit. He barked for a while,
and then checked the toy's ass. And comtemplated a dry hump. And then...
Watch this space tomorrow !

Got a nibble for me ?
Caught these dogs begging for some food (or was it the beer?) at a beach cafe. This
theme is a hard one, as catching animals in a theme is hard. They rarely do anything
interesting in front of the camera.
I took the shot, for a change...

Glenfiddich
This is the last of the Alcohol round. I thought I'd end it on a high note. Rash took the shot.
It's got a slight shake, but that's coz it was late in the evening. She actually did a really good
job at it.
I need to get one of these for my bar.

Yellow Tail
This is an Australian wine that's been aggressively promoted in the US. I had it once.
It's decent stuff. The thing is that it's going to take a bit for it to get some respect,
as wine connoisseurs are a fussy lot.

Heineken
This ad is at the bus stop right beside Gate 5 at USC. It's very close to the
building I work in.
The beer is another useless one. Beer here sucks.

Brahma
Well, the hindu brigade hasn't caught this one yet ! :)
Never tried this beer yet. Prob will one of these days.
By the way, I have only adjusted the sharpening on this one.
No changes to the saturation. Rash took the shot.

Coors
Rash took this shot. It's rather nice too. I just increased the saturation a little. And
cut out some of the ugliness from the sides.
Coors is a really useless beer. I'd rather drink flavoured water...

Budweiser
Random ad, random wall. And really stupid beer. I can think of atleast 10 beers at
the top of my head that beats it in every catagory. (I saw 10 coz I am not really
a great beer drinker).
And I also wonder who will ever buy apparel...

Arnold
This week's theme sounds exciting. However, at the onset of the week, I must warn
everyone not to get too excited about it. It may or may not be good. The first one
is a little funny, but by no stretch of imagination spectacular.

The Chinese Theatre
Well, we figured we'd save the most famous for last. This is the Chinese Grumann theatre,
in Hollywood, which is where the stars have their hand and footprint done in cement.
It's right next to the Kodak theatre, where the Oscar's are held. Heck, now I am confused.
Is the Kodak theatre more famous? mm, I'll still say the Chinese theatre, as they are
older, and they do show movies there. The last movie I saw there was Troy, which sucked
big time.

Suicide
We were in Hollywood, showing Ben the place, and we came across this theatre.
For the life in me, I can't understand what this play/movie would be all about.
But it was interesting enough to warrent a post here.
